She was the dominant ski crosser before injuries ruined two straight seasons. Now Sandra Näslund is back – and excelling again. In Val Thorens, France, she took her second World Cup victory of the season.

A cruciate ligament injury ruined the 2023–2024 season. When she was ready to make a comeback, in Val Thorens, France, she injured herself again and the fracture in her tibia ruined the entire last year.

The journey back to ski cross has been long and hard.

But also fortunate.

In the World Cup premiere in Val Thorens, France, she won outright and followed up her success with another victory a day later.

"It feels really good, I'm so happy with my driving. I couldn't wish for anything more," she says in Viaplay's broadcast.

And just like before, she was superior in all aspects of the competition.

I had a little trouble with the jumps, I don't know if it was because of the wind but I didn't do them very well. I was worried they would get there but I managed to keep the lead.

In the final, Sandra Näslund was ahead of Marielle Berger Sabbatel, France, and Fanny Smith, Switzerland.

Linnea Mobärg crashed into Canadian India Sherret, who had crashed, and did not make it further than the quarterfinals.

On the men's side, Erik Mobärg was eliminated in the round of 16, while his brother David Mobärg made it to the semifinals but narrowly missed out on advancing from there. He finished sixth. Måns Abersten reached the quarterfinals.
