"We pay the costs of the dump," Åkesson writes on social media.

He attaches a screenshot of a Swish payment with the amount hidden.

"It is primarily a symbolic gesture to show my and the Sweden Democrats' support for the activity, but there is more to come," Åkesson writes, saying that SD will offer to cover all her costs.

He further writes that SD is already working to allow the police to use criminal provocation and "do exactly the work that Dumpen does."

Lawyer Kristofer Stahre tells TV4 Nyheterna that this is "completely outrageous" and that politicians like Åkesson should change the law if they are dissatisfied with the legislation.

"It sends completely the wrong signals to the Swedish people: that certain people are above the law if Jimmie Åkesson disagrees with the legislation," Stahre tells TV4.

Åkesson answers Stahre on X:

"Yes, it is unconventional for legislators to fine an individual who has committed a crime. However, those of you who choose to focus on that instead of the absurdity of an honorable citizen being convicted for doing the morally right thing can go where the pepper grows."

The dump's responsible publisher, Sara Nilsson, was convicted of gross defamation; the punishment was a suspended sentence and a daily fine.
