Two losses on Wednesday meant that Sweden only finished in fourth place in the regular season table.
Niklas Edin's team is therefore not completely play-off ready, but most of the signs point to the Swedes going there as bottom team Austria awaits in the last round. But two losses against Italy (4–6) and against regular season leader Scotland (4–11) make the road to a European Championship gold medal in Lohja, Finland, more difficult for the Swedish side.
In a final fourth place in the table, Scotland awaits in the semi-finals. Scotland has so far gone clean in the European Championship, eight straight wins, and impressed against Sweden.
On the women's side, Team Anna Hasselborg has already secured first place in the regular season with one regular season round remaining. It will be played on Thursday morning and the semi-finals will take place in the evening.
