Scheffler was once again named the PGA Tour's Golfer of the Year on Monday. Receiving the Jack Nicklaus Award four years in a row is a feat that only a certain Tiger Woods can boast of before.
Woods has received the award on eleven occasions, including five consecutive times between 1999 and 2003.
That Scottie Scheffler would be honored again this year, with the players on the tour voting for the winner, was a low-odds proposition. The 29-year-old American won six PGA Tour victories last season – twice as many as anyone else – and two of those were majors: the PGA Championship and the British Open.
The other nominees were Rory McIlroy, Tommy Fleetwood and Ben Griffin.
