SBAB writes in a press release that the interest rate changes are mainly an effect of the Swedish Central Bank's decision on Tuesday to lower the benchmark interest rate.

For private customers, the new savings interest rate will be 1.25 percent and for corporate customers, the interest rate will be 1.25 percent on amounts up to 25 million kronor and 1.75 percent for savings between 25 million and 200 million kronor.

The changes come into effect on September 24.
