The Frenchman led Saudi Arabia in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar - and won convincingly against Argentina in the group stage - but did not advance to the playoffs.
He was then the head coach of the French women's national team, before returning to Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Arabia is in Group H of this summer's World Cup along with Spain, Uruguay and Cape Verde.
