Mac is not entirely satisfied with that explanation and comes up with a counter-question:
Mom, why are we here?
The answer is that Cirkus Hasselborg has just made sure that there will be one last - perhaps golden-edged - performance in Cortina before it is time to pack up and go home. The final is on Sunday morning, the gold medal match against Switzerland.
Anna Hasselborg, Sara McManus, Agnes Knochenhauer, Sofia Scharback and reserve Johanna Heldin agree that Cirkus Hasselborg is a fitting nickname.
“The best circus in the world”
It's the best circus in the whole world, says McManus.
During the Olympics, the Swedish players bring their families with them. But they don't live together. That's why there is extra close contact during the matches, not least with all the children.
"I feel the support all the way. I just enjoyed it, looked up and waved, blew kisses to Mac. I get so incredibly emotional when you know you have them here," says Sara McManus.
Reigning world champion Canada had nothing to oppose once the Swedes took command in the semifinals.
Love the Olympics
An incredible match. We played so well, we got into such an incredible flow. I'm so happy and so proud to be on this team. It's one of the best things I've ever been a part of.
It has been ten years since the team was formed.
What a journey we have been on. Now I see us closing it with a gold medal. It has been a difficult few years, but we grow as a team when we get to the Olympics.
I don't really know what it does to us, but we love being at the Olympics. Being in a bigger context is something that suits this team very well. It lifts us up. No one is happier than me right now, says Sara McManus.
