With the help of strategically placed cameras, the National Veterinary Institute, SVA, will monitor how the salmon in the Torne River are doing and how many salmon make it to their spawning grounds.
"It's very soothing with the flowing river, not entirely unlike the calm sequences in the TV program "The Great Moose Migration"," says Hampus Hällbom, deputy state veterinarian at SVA in a press release.
Today, the salmon are being followed by a camera that films straight down towards the bottom of the river, but more cameras are planned.
The salmon migration can be followed on SVA's website for fish reporting.
