Sadiku, 31, has made a success in Celtic since she took over the coaching position in the Scottish top club in January.
Among other things, she led the club to its first participation in a group stage in Champions League.
In October, a few weeks before she turned 31, she also became the youngest coach to lead a team in the tournament, something Julian Nagelsmann could previously boast of.
"Want to reach the top"
Sadiku was forced to end her active football career already at the age of 23, after several knee injuries and operations. In 2018, a new venture began, as a coach. She started as an assistant to Kim Björkegren in Peking Jingtan. Since then, she has worked in, among others, Rosengård, Fortuna Hjørring, and Eskilstuna United.
I want to reach the top. I want to coach the best players in the best league. And to be challenged, you must feel a desire to take on greater challenges, and that's something I'm willing to do, she said recently in an interview with TT.
Over time, she would like to coach a men's team.
100 percent. It's not because I want to prove that women can coach men. Coaching women and men is very different. It's something I would find very interesting to test.
Many well-known names
No other Swede, whether coach or player, has made it onto the International Football Federation's lists among the nominees in the various categories where an individual prize is awarded.
Sadiku's challengers for the title as coach of the year on the women's side:
