Saab has secured an order from the Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) for the modernization of Sweden's heavy coastal robot capability, the defence company writes in a press release.
The order value is estimated to be a total of 800 million kronor.
The Saab share rose 3.9 percent in Monday's stock exchange trading and has increased by over 50 percent since the beginning of 2024.
"Sweden will now receive a significant capability enhancement in the form of a sea-target robot with a more advanced seeker, longer range and larger warhead", says Görgen Johansson, head of Saab's Dynamics business area, according to the press release.
The contract concerns, according to Saab, the RBS15 Mk3 sea-target robot integrated on a launch module placed on a truck. The robot has a range of over 200 km and can be fired from ships and trucks and is primarily used against sea targets.
