The incident occurred on a flight from Thessaloniki, Greece, to Memmingen, Germany. A window on the plane broke and a man was sucked out by the negative pressure. He survived thanks to his seatbelt and fellow passengers holding onto his legs.
Initial results of the investigation into the incident now show that foreign objects may have damaged the plane's engine during takeoff, Ryanair CEO Michael O'Leary said in connection with the company's presentation of its second-quarter results, Reuters reports.
But we cannot say with definitive certainty that this is the case, he adds.
A more detailed report on the accident will be presented later.
