Several residential buildings were also set on fire just southwest of the capital, according to Ukraine's state emergency service.
The night's attack was extensive. According to Ukraine's air force, Russia fired a total of 539 drones and eleven missiles, reports AFP.
In the Russian region of Rostov, a woman was killed at the same time when a Ukrainian drone crashed into an apartment building, according to the region's acting governor.
A man was also injured by shrapnel in a Ukrainian drone attack on a district in the Moscow region, reports Russian state-controlled Tass.
