Russian forces are advancing in eastern Ukraine, but the pace of the Russian invasion offensive has slowed down for the fourth month in a row. This is reported by the American think tank ISW.

According to ISW – Institute for the Study of War – Russian military has captured 240 square kilometers of Ukrainian territory in March. This is a significant decrease since November 2024 when Russian military captured 725 square kilometers.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian military has almost completely retreated from the Russian Kursk region, and currently holds around 80 square kilometers of Russian territory. When Ukraine launched an offensive against Kursk in August 2024, 1,300 square kilometers were captured in two weeks.

The calculations have been made by the news agency AFP based primarily on the American think tank ISW's data. ISW is affiliated with the US military and funded by suppliers to the US military, and the information has not been verified by other sources.
