Russia rejects a proposal for a month-long ceasefire in Ukraine.
Anything other than a stable "final settlement" is "completely unacceptable", says Maria Zacharova at the Russian Foreign Ministry.
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyj has called for a stop to air and sea attacks as a first step towards a ceasefire. Both France and the UK have raised a similar idea of a month-long pause in terms of air attacks, at sea, and against energy infrastructure.
Zacharova says in a televised appearance that Ukraine will use such a pause to "prevent a collapse at the front" and to "strengthen its military potential".
