Russia has handed over the remains of 1,000 fallen Ukrainian soldiers, an informed source told the Russian state news agency Tass. In return, Ukraine has returned the remains of 41 Russian soldiers to Russia.
In early February, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that at least 12,000 sets of remains had been handed over to Ukraine since June of last year, Tass reports. At least 200 Russian soldiers' remains have been handed over by Ukraine during the same period, according to Russian authorities.
