The gas pipeline "Power of Siberia 2" is to go to China via Mongolia.
According to Russian media, which quotes the company's CEO Aleksey Miller at the SCO summit in China, 50 billion cubic meters of fossil natural gas will be able to be sent via the pipeline annually for 30 years.
According to Miller, the gas that goes through the pipeline will be cheaper than the gas that Russia sends to Europe. Reuters has previously reported that the plans for Power of Siberia 2 have been stuck for over ten years due to, among other things, price and cost issues.
But now Russia is under heavy pressure to find new export routes, since Europe, due to the war in Ukraine, has decided to stop buying Russian fossil fuels.
At the same time, it is also reported that Russia and China have agreed to increase deliveries via two existing pipelines.
