It's all about how Sweden will implement an EU directive on pay transparency from 2023, a directive whose main purpose is to address unjustified pay gaps between women and men. Now the government is proposing that the directive be implemented into Swedish law on 1 January 2027, rather than 1 July this year.
The rules also mean that employers with more than 250 employees must submit a salary report to the Discrimination Ombudsman every year. The first report will now be due in May 2028.
