The temporary increase of the ROT deduction from 30 to 50 percent will not be extended, according to the Ministry of Finance. The message is met with criticism.

The temporary increase came into force on May 12 this year and applies until the turn of the year. Then the rot deduction returns to 30 percent, confirms the Ministry of Finance to Sveriges Radio Ekot.

That there will be no extension is now being criticized.

Andreas Åström, business policy manager at Installatörsföretagen, says in a written comment to TT that the extended rot deduction has proven to be effective in getting the industry started "and if you had extended the deduction, it would probably have led to the companies starting to hire again".

"Instead, the government is once again worsening the conditions, which is of course very problematic", he continues.

Monica Björk, CEO of Byggmaterialhandlarna, is also critical.

"The industry needs long-term decisions that apply over a longer period. Not this constant flip-flopping and change of conditions every year", she says in a comment.
