Robyn is addressing fans who have taken time off, booked travel and hotel rooms to attend the now-cancelled concerts. The decision to instead do a larger show on October 17 was a difficult one, she writes.
"It feels important to say that there are no financial benefits for me underlying this," she continues, describing the three now-cancelled July gigs as "a misjudgment by me and my team."
"I am aware that the announcement comes far too late and at the expense of those of you who cannot make the new date," Robyn writes.
Robyn claims that she has never been interested in breaking records or driven by a desire for commercial success. The atmosphere and emotion in the room are what she finds important at her concerts, she emphasizes.
"It felt like a shame and a little sad to do it on three different dates in half-full arenas," she writes.
At the same time, she understands if the news of a changed date is difficult to digest for those who cannot come.
"I am so deeply grateful to my audience, you who listen and come every time I play. I don't take it for granted," Robyn writes.
It was announced on Tuesday that the three planned summer shows would be combined into one fall show. Criticism from fans was massive, including for how Robyn presented the news and because it came at far too short notice before the summer concerts.
