A store in Borlänge was robbed by a man with a hammer. The next day, he returned to apologize – and was arrested.

It was on Monday evening that a lone perpetrator entered a convenience store in Borlänge, knocked over a shelf and threatened the staff with a hammer before stealing tobacco and leaving the scene.

The area was cordoned off for technical examination and a preliminary investigation into robbery and vandalism was initiated.

The following day, a 35-year-old man entered the store and wanted to apologize for the robbery, the police write on their website. A police patrol was ordered to the scene and arrested the man, who was later taken into custody.
