Speaker Andreas Norlén (M) has made the decision, following a request from the Tidö parties who want to consider several of their bills before election day on September 13.
"The Swedish people expect us to work hard and I expect the Riksdag to take it seriously and prioritize a continued high pace over summer vacation," says Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson (M) to Altinget.
The opposition has previously criticized the initiative.
"We cannot cancel the election campaign because the government has not managed to produce the policies they want to see in time," said Social Democrats' group leader Lena Hallengren to Altinget in February.
The Riksdag is usually closed from midsummer to September.
