It is now clear which two candidates will compete for the governorship of California this fall. According to the AP, Trump favorite Steve Hilton, a former Fox News commentator, has received enough votes in the primary election to take on Democrat Xavier Becerra.
It has taken almost a week to determine which candidates would face each other in the gubernatorial election because of a drawn-out vote-counting process.
In the state's primary election, candidates regardless of party appear on the same ballot, and Hilton managed to squeeze into second place ahead of Democrat Tom Steyer.
