“Our conclusion is unequivocal: sexual and gender-based violence was a central part of the October 7 attack and the hostage-taking,” the report from the Israeli organization The Civil Commission says.
The report is based on previous investigations, testimonies, interviews and official documentation. Among other things, over 10,000 photos and videos have been reviewed to determine how sexual violence was used during the attack and against the hostages.
There have been previous testimonies and reports of sexual violence during the attack, but the extent has been debated.
