"The Election Authority is pleased that many voters vote early. We have a long voting period in Sweden and it is good if voting is spread out over the entire period to reduce the risk of long queues closer to election day," says Anna Nyqvist, chief of staff at the Election Authority, according to the press release.
Early voting in Sweden started on Aug. 26. It is possible to vote early up until election day, Sept. 13.
With a total of 1,285 votes, Nordstan in Gothenburg was the polling station that received the most early votes yesterday.
