The National Agency for Education's new statistics show that the proportion of teenagers who want to attend a vocational program continues to increase for the third year in a row. Before this academic year, 39 percent applied, an increase of 1.4 percentage points from the previous academic year.
The fact that the proportion is growing is likely due to new rules that mean that vocational students will also receive basic eligibility for college.
The Electricity and Energy Program is increasing the most and is still the most common first-choice among vocational programs. But the college preparatory social science program attracts almost three times as many. The second largest interest in applications has the college preparatory economics program.
