December has been warm, wet and grey in many places. And with Christmas Eve now just ten days away, the chances of snow are still slim.
The milder air looks set to persist across almost the entire country next week and until December 24th.
If the focus is a white Christmas Eve, then I think the chances of that are quite low, says Erik Höjgård-Olsen.
In recent days, there has been significant snowfall in the northern inland and mountainous regions of Norrland, and the snow depth there is now between half and one meter.
And the advice if you're really looking for a white Christmas is pretty simple, according to the meteorologist.
The way the signal looks, you should probably go as far north as you can.
However, there is a small chance that the southern parts of the country may also get some flakes. A fairly cold air mass is located north of Scandinavia in the middle of next week.
"If we get signals during this period that cold air is moving south before Christmas Eve, then we have a completely different air mass. Then the colder air will also bring snowfall," says Höjgård-Olsen.
