In cahoots with an 18-year-old man, the rapper ordered a 15-year-old and a 26-year-old to murder a person and their brother from a rival gang.
But before the murders could be carried out, those involved were arrested by the police.
The district court sentenced the rapper to prison for four years and nine months – a verdict that is now being upheld by the court of appeal.
The verdict against the then 18-year-old man also stands firm. He is sentenced to closed youth care for 1.5 years for conspiracy to murder and involvement of a minor in crime.
The two rappers' feud is said to have been nurtured over a long time and through rap texts, music videos, and social media, they repeatedly sent murder threats to each other.
Malin Bohman, investigation leader at the police department for serious crimes in southern Stockholm, comments on the verdict.
"It has become clear to us during the investigation how widespread and easily accessible it is to, via social media, lure such young people into committing the most serious violent crimes just to get confirmation and feel a sense of belonging. Rap videos that the networks' front figures perform are on social media with great spread, mainly among young people".
She continues:
"Here we see how gang criminal life is glorified and how one clearly takes sides in the ongoing conflict. In the texts, one hints at knowledge of previously committed violent crimes to show one's side's violence capital. Unfortunately, this lures all too many of our young people today".
