The company that runs the competition, Rally Sweden AB, made a loss of 16 million kronor (about $1.5 million) last year. According to Värmlands Folkblad, the competition, which is part of the World Rally Championship, is on the verge of bankruptcy.

But it will be held for at least another year.

"On February 18-21, 2027, it will once again be time for a rally party in Umeå and Västerbotten. The only pure winter rally on the World Rally Championship calendar," Rally Sweden writes in a press release.

Star Oliver Solberg will compete there.

"Having a Swedish driver fighting at the absolute top of the world means a lot for rallying in Sweden. The opportunity to see him compete on home soil is, of course, something very special for the Swedish audience," says Anna Nordkvist, CEO of Rally Sweden.
