In a way, it's reversed roles. In 1977, Lindarw imitated the queen for the first time. And it was on the same stage, the Oscarsteatern in Stockholm.
After his performance, Lindarw handed over to the queen, who was sitting together with King Carl Gustaf in the royal box. And she stood up and received the rose.
It was very important and significant for Christer and for the entire After Dark. If the royal house accepted the phenomenon of drag shows, it sent a signal to the entire Swedish people, says Renée Nyberg, host of "What a Life!"
Almost 50 years later, the queen and Christer Lindarw are reunited at the Oscarsteatern. Silvia enters the stage with regalia and in the same yellow dress as Lindarw wore in 1977.
It's really a fine gesture from her. She holds a speech to Christer where she thanks him for everything he has done. It's obvious that she has enjoyed his interpretations over the years, says Renée Nyberg and adds:
One can really say that it crowned the program.
The episode airs on May 31 on TV4.
