She loved dresses in strong colors, preferably with a matching hat. Now Queen Elizabeth II's wardrobe will be shown at a large exhibition at Buckingham Palace.

The Queen, who died 96 years old in 2022, loved colorful clothes and hats for a particular reason: She wanted to be seen in a crowd and even the subject who stood farthest back would have a chance to get a glimpse of her.

In connection with the centenary of her birth this spring, the exhibition "Queen Elizabeth II: Her life in style" opens with dresses and jewelry, hats and shoes as well as her wedding dress, made in 1947 by designer Sir Norman Hartnell, reports BBC.

Also, more everyday clothes such as riding jackets and scarves are included in the exhibition.

The exhibition is said to be the largest ever of the Queen's clothes, shoes and jewelry.
