A new contact between Russia and the USA can be taken during the coming week, says Russia's envoy Kirill Dmitrijev to the Russian regime-loyal TV channel Pervyj Kanal, according to Russian news agencies.
Kirill Dmitrijev has been involved in previous negotiations with the USA and recently stated that he saw a "positive dynamic" in the relationship between the countries. This after meeting the USA's envoy Steve Witkoff in Washington.
Dmitrijev is a close adviser to Putin and head of the state-owned Russian direct investment fund. He is said to have played an important role in building up the relationship between Washington and Moscow during Trump's first term of office.
