Who is responsible for the content of Joakim Lundell's autobiography and the television programs in which he accuses his mother of gross abuse? Book publishers and television companies, according to Lundell. He himself counters with the publisher Forum.

"That's probably a question for Forum or Bonnier, who published the book. Or for TV4, who published the documentary," says Lundell in the first part of the SVT documentary "Hate."

But he himself is responsible for the content of the book, claims Annie Kabala, publishing manager at Forum, which in 2017 published the autobiography "Monster" in which Lundell accuses his mother of serious physical and psychological abuse during childhood.

"Formally, the author is responsible for the text in the book, unlike texts in the media. But of course the publisher stands behind the book and the author," Kabala writes in an email to TT about the publisher's general stance.

TT has asked follow-up questions to Annie Kabala, who has not returned.

Earlier this year, TV4 broadcast the documentary “Joakim – an Abandoned Child.” Mia Lindqvist, program director and responsible publisher, says in a written comment that it is based on Lundell’s “memories and experiences” and that the mother was offered to participate, but declined.

"However, it is repeatedly reported in the documentary that there are different experiences about what happened and that the other family members do not share his image."
