Protests against high fuel prices have been going on for three days. The Prime Minister believes they have gone too far.
"Our major routes have been blocked and the foundations of our economy are being halted and paralyzed. It is not fair to the people of Ireland," Micheál Martin said, according to Irish media.
The authorities will intervene to move vehicles. The army has been put on standby to be called in if the police need support.
A spokesperson for the protest movement, who is demonstrating in Dublin himself, tells RTÉ that protesters will respect soldiers if they show up, but would rather have a meeting with the government.
