There is also information that they were friends, says prosecutor Emma Olsson.
A 25-year-old man is suspected of being stabbed or otherwise murdered at the beginning of the year. According to the prosecutor, the purpose was to hide serious fraud.
When he was reported missing at the end of January, his finances were checked and investigators saw that sums had disappeared from his accounts to the man who has now been charged.
Similar parts in the freezer
During a search of the suspect's apartment, body parts were found in the freezer.
Investigations have been carried out in the surrounding area, but we have not found the rest of the body, says Emma Olsson.
She sees a clear financial motive for the murder and believes the purpose of handling the dead body was to hide the murder.
According to the indictment, the suspect used the murdered man's bank ID to transfer money to various gambling companies and large sums to himself. In addition, a large loan was also taken out in the murdered man's name. In total, it is about 200,000 kronor.
Denies everything
The defendant denies all charges, says his defense attorney Maria Robinson.
It is true that the deceased person has been in his (the defendant's, editor's note) apartment and my client has also been there, but there is also a third person that the police have not been able to locate, who my client has told us about, she tells TT.
According to the suspect's information, he himself was not involved, nor in the transfer of money from the deceased's accounts.
DNA evidence
The prosecutor points out that no traces of a third party were seen in the financial transactions.
In technical evidence of the tools we claim were used in the dismemberment, such as knives and saws, there is only DNA from the plaintiff and the defendant, no third person, says the prosecutor.
Correction: An earlier version contained incorrect information about how much money was withdrawn from the murdered person's account and borrowed in his name.
