The government's special investigator Anna Nergårdh will propose changes to the law affecting how online doctors can charge. The current model, where online doctors are paid per visit, may be on its way out.
"This is a model that risks giving the wrong incentives for healthcare. There is a risk that it will lead to higher consumption of care and perhaps care that is not fully medically justified," Anna Nergårdh tells Sveriges Radio Ekot.
The system therefore needs to be reviewed, she believes.
There is a risk that the portal paragraph in the Health and Medical Services Act, which states that those with the greatest need for care should be given priority, will not actually become governing.
The proposals must be presented by June at the latest.
