The series is called "Hidden Islands" and is described as an adventure series for the whole family with the idea of encouraging children to explore nature and spend more time outdoors. The series consists of 20 seven-minute episodes and will be available on the streaming service SkyShowtime later this year.

Princess Madeleine is producing the TV series in collaboration with Karini Gustafson-Teixeira. The duo previously worked together on the children's book "Stella and the Secret", which was published in 2019.

“Karini Gustafson-Teixeira and I began developing this project during the COVID-19 pandemic, inspired by the love we share for nature, children and stories,” Princess Madeleine said in a statement.

“Hidden Islands” is about three children who end up on a mythical island group that holds a big secret that will change the children's lives. It is the first animated original series made for SkyShowtime.

"Our goal was to create an animated story that would be filled with adventure while conveying important messages about sustainability, survival and caring for the planet. It is wonderful to see how the story is now reaching so many children through SkyShowtime," said Princess Madeleine.

"Hidden Islands" is produced by Oya Copenhagen, which has previously made the animated children's series "Mia's Magical World". Danish director Peter Egeberg is directing.

Princess Madeleine moved back to Sweden with her family two years ago after living abroad for several years. Alongside her royal duties, she launched the skincare brand Minlen last year.
