Investors are awaiting word on an extended ceasefire between the US and Iran. President Donald Trump is expected to sign or reject a 60-day ceasefire agreement soon.

Among the most traded stocks on the OMXS30 list, mining company Boliden rose 0.5 percent. This followed an announcement that the company will be allowed to continue mining copper in Nautanen, Norrbotten.

In the opposite direction, defense group Saab fell 1.2 percent.

Oil traders appear to be betting on an extended ceasefire. During the day, the price of a barrel of North Sea oil fell 2.2 percent to $91.80.

At the close in Stockholm, the stock exchanges in Frankfurt, London and Paris had also risen. There were also gains in New York.
