Skaraborg Hospital has reported itself to Ivo (The Health and Social Care Inspectorate) since a pregnant woman died of sepsis, reports P4 Skaraborg.
The woman had previously sought help at her health center due to a sore throat. When she arrived at the hospital, with fever and breathing difficulties, the fetus had already died and later the woman also died.
According to the hospital, it is not certain that she would have survived even if she had received intensive care sooner. The hospital writes in its report, however, that one needs to learn more about sepsis (previously called blood poisoning) in pregnant women.
