Letter volumes continue to decline at a rapid pace, minus 18 percent in the third quarter. However, package volumes are increasing, and Postnord – the Danish-Swedish package deliverer – manages to turn last year's loss into an operating profit of 86 million.
Net sales, however, decrease by 5 percent to 8.6 billion kronor – or minus 6 percent in fixed currency for comparable units.
Letter volumes are negatively affected by digitalization and a new postal law in Denmark, according to CEO Annemarie Gardshol.
"Furthermore, the Group's sales decreased due to the fact that we have phased out the main part of the logistics business in Denmark, as well as lower sales in the international segment," she writes in a press release.
