Several of the leading indexes pointed upwards at lunchtime in Friday's trading. Hong Kong-based Hang Seng had risen by 1.0 percent, while Shenzhen and Shanghai's composite index had climbed by 0.3 and 0.4 percent, respectively.
More gloomy was the situation in Japan, where Nikkei 225 fell back by 0.3 percent. The decline came in connection with the presentation of new inflation figures in the country, which showed some decline in core inflation from last month's nearly three-year high, reports CNBC.
Also, the South Korean Kospi fell slightly, and was in the middle of the trading day down by about 0.3 percent.
