Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government survived the vote of confidence in parliament that threatened his broad coalition.

Votes fell 243 to 210 in favor of the government. There were no abstained votes.

Donald Tusk requested the vote after his allies lost the latest presidential election to national conservative Karol Nawrocki – a loss that weakened him and made him need a way to restore his authority.

Propaganda should not come before the truth, said Tusk before the vote in the Polish parliament.

Perhaps we overestimated the faith in the truth to defend itself.

In his speech in parliament, Tusk emphasized his coalition's continued responsibility for the country's future despite the election loss, reported news site Poland Daily 24.

I am seeking a vote of confidence because I have the conviction, faith and security that we have a mandate to govern, to take full responsibility for what happens in Poland, said Tusk.
