The police, the Tax Agency, the Enforcement Authority and three other authorities are tasked with putting more effort into getting at criminal profits in the form of cryptocurrencies, properties and other assets in a corporate environment.
We want them to strengthen their cooperation and focus extra on assets that generate large profits, says Minister of Justice Gunnar Strömmer (The Moderate Party).
He points out that Sweden has perhaps Europe's sharpest forfeiture legislation, since the new law came into force last autumn. So far, criminal profits of 80 million kronor have been forfeited with the support of the law.
Now it's a matter of turning up the pressure further, says Strömmer.
