Last week, the police gave the go-ahead for the controversial rapper to perform at the festival, but now a new assessment is being made.

We have withdrawn part of the permit regarding the specific artist. Since we granted the permit, we have received new information that has led us to make this decision, says the police's press spokesperson Thomas Johansson to TT.

One cannot carry out the performance without significant danger to those present and the artist himself.

Despite the police considering other measures to carry out the performance, they have come to the conclusion that order and safety cannot be maintained.

”Trust the assessment”

Ylva Schnorrenberger is part of the festival management and says that they have had ongoing contact with the police about safety.

We have had a dialogue with the police all the time, and agreed on how to proceed. Therefore, we now fully trust their assessment to cancel Yasin, she says to TT.

Two previously planned concerts with Yasin this year have had to be cancelled. This includes a performance at Brännbollsyran in Umeå on May 30, which was blown off due to threats. The message came after the police revealed a murder plan against the rapper and arrested two people.

No doubts

A few days later, the Borlänge festival Alive booked Yasin. He was supposed to perform there in early July.

However, for the festival management at Trädgården festival, there were no doubts about booking the artist.

We have seen Yasin as a fantastic booking to be able to offer visitors and know that there are an enormous number of people who listen to him. And we are currently looking to find a replacement for him, says Ylva Schnorrenberger.
