The large seizure was made on Friday, as first reported by the Länstidningen Södertälje. The police now confirm that, in connection with work against a major player who brings drugs into Sweden, they have identified a courier – a woman – who led to Friday's raid.
It is at least 200 kilograms of drugs and is currently being analyzed; it could include amphetamine and cocaine, says Erik Guteson, who is section head for the section against international and serious organized crime, Igob, in the West region.
It's not exactly every day that we seize so many drugs. It's a particularly serious drug offense.
A woman has been arrested and will be remanded in custody on Tuesday. Police would not comment on whether there are more suspects in the case.
The preliminary investigation is now continuing, and it is Igob in the West region that is in charge of that investigation, says Erik Guteson.
Rawa Majid, known as the “Kurdish Fox”, is identified by the police as the leader of the Foxtrot network and has long been internationally wanted for involvement in serious crime, including murder. Today, his whereabouts are unclear.
