There are no concerns that the USA will reduce its presence in our country, that the USA will in any way withdraw from its responsibility or shared responsibility for security in this part of Europe, says the Polish president to journalists in Warsaw.
Conservative Duda has long been positively inclined towards US President Donald Trump, and also expresses hope that Trump can put an end to the Ukraine war.
The statements come after Duda met Keith Kellogg, the US special envoy for Ukraine and Russia.
The USA placed forces in Poland when Russia annexed the Ukrainian Crimea in 2014. The deployment was expanded and made more long-term after the full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
Last week, however, the American Defense Minister Pete Hegseth warned European NATO members against taking American military presence in Europe for granted.
