"Tonight, the government will adopt a decree that repeals the right to apply for asylum. Just as I announced - without delay", writes Tusk on the X platform.
The reason has previously been stated to be that human traffickers and countries such as Russia and Belarus are abusing the system.
Poland, a member of NATO and the EU, has accused Belarus and Russia of staging a stream of asylum-seeking migrants in a "hybrid attack" to destabilize Europe, which the Belarusian government denies.
Tusk's message came after Poland's President Andrzej Duda - allied with the right-wing opposition - announced that he had signed a bill that enables the government to temporarily restrict the right to asylum.
The Polish Senate voted through the bill earlier in March.
The legislation also provides the possibility to extend the restriction with parliamentary approval.
The EU announced last year that member states bordering Russia and Belarus may restrict the right to asylum for migrants in the event they are used as "weapons".
The Polish measures have been met with outrage among human rights groups.
