Poland and allied countries' fighter jets carried out a "preventive" maneuver in Polish airspace on Saturday.

This is stated by Polish authorities, who refer to a threat of drone attacks in adjacent areas in Ukraine.

The airport in the city of Lublin in eastern Poland has been closed due to the operation.

The operation is taking place after Russian drones violated Polish airspace on Wednesday night. After the incident, Nato has stated that it will strengthen its presence in Eastern Europe.

Russia has denied violating Polish airspace.
