This year's Tour de France ended in the usual order with a sprint on the Champ-Elysées in Paris. Tadej Pogacar, Slovenia, who became the overall winner, also put his mark on the final stage.

This final stage became something extra, compared to previous years.

After inspiration from last year's Olympic Games, the route was changed to also include climbs up Montmartre in front of a huge audience. This was spiced up with slippery cobblestone streets in rainy weather. This made a final stage out of the ordinary.

On the last climb up Montmartre, Pogacar made a push, but Wour van Aert countered and drove away to stage victory.

But Pogacar managed to defend his title from last year.
