The result is "historically important decisions regarding PKK's activities", announces the Kurdish news agency ANF with close ties to the movement on Friday.
The announcement comes after the founder Abdullah Öcalan in February this year urged the movement to cease. Öcalan, who has been imprisoned and isolated for over 25 years, then said that the Kurdish people no longer strive for self-governance.
The move was seen as a solution to the long-standing conflict between Turkey's regime and the PKK movement. The condition for the dissolution was that Öcalan would be released, which Turkey rejected.
President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, however, thought that the dissolution was not happening fast enough and demanded on March 30 that PKK immediately lay down its weapons.
PKK's new decision was taken during a congress held from Monday to Friday. The movement will now share "full and detailed information from the congress's outcome very soon", according to ANF.
