The consumer magazine Råd & Rön has analyzed the levels of pesticides in 20 different types of small tomatoes sold in Swedish grocery stores.

The tests show that a majority of imported varieties, 12 out of 17, contain residues of between one and 11 pesticides. Twelve of the tomato varieties contain pesticides classified as PFAS, chemicals that break down slowly and accumulate in the environment and the human body.

The pesticide levels found by Råd & Rön in their tests do not exceed any of the EU's limit values. No pesticide residues were found in 7 out of 20 tomato varieties.
